Firefighters losing ground to scores of western blazes
HELENA, Mont. - Scores of wildfires have forced beleagueredfirefighters to give up ground as officials across western Montanawarned people to stay inside and out of the thickening smoke. InNevada, a crash of a firefighting helicopter killed one crew memberand injured three other people. The Bell 206 helicopter, assigned toa fire northeast of Elko, crashed late Thursday shortly aftertakeoff.

BURNT HILLS, N.Y. Jeanette L. Bergstrom, 62, of Beechwood Drive, Burnt Hills, passed away peacefully at home with her loving family at her side on March 26, 2009. Jean was born in Los Angeles, Calif. on August 16, 1946, one of four children of Clarence Perry and the late Eunice Hoffman Perry. She graduated from St. Michael's High School in Los Angeles, and received her associate of arts degree from El Camino Community College in Torrance, Calif. Jean was a NYS licensed ophthalmic dispenser and earned a master in ophthalmic optics from the American Board of Opticianry.
